Less than a star if able... was incredibly unhelpful. Given rate on phone and guaranteed car rental for type of card. Get to place (via taxi, miles from home) to be told no on rental, even though no issues with funds. We're stuck walking HERTZ got our business, THEY deserved it. Person with me heart issues and handicapped tag for me... SHAME ON YOU BUDGET! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
DON'T RENT FROM THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE CHARGED AND SENT TO COLLECTIONS FOR SOMETHING YOU DIDN'T DO!!!!
She said something about crediting my card if the gas gauge comes up to full.....fat chance of that happening. They are going to charge me an extra $17 bucks for an eighth of a tank of gas.
The Nissan I rented has many scratches that they tried to blame on me. But I show the manager the paperwork indicating where I spotted the prior damage.
I filled the car up before I took the car back to Budget / Avis store and the gas gauge did not register as full, only 7/8 full.
Good price until the extra charges kick in.
Never get a car from this place! A month ago we rented a 15 passenger van for our family to go to a reunion. They call us in the morning and said our van had arrived, drove 40 mins to get there and the van was not there!!! Said there was nothing they could do for us we asked for a couple cars or 2 smalls vans and gave us nothing. The man working was extremely rude and completely unhelpful. We also called the 800 number and they said all we could do is drive to the nearest airport (not close to where we were and out of our way) that they might have a van there for us but they couldn't guarantee us anything and we were already late by 2 hours!!! Absolutely awful experience. They did not handle this the way a good business should and the man at the front desk should be fired.
I rented a car at Budget on June 11th 2017 at rome ny before I even started the car I made sure that with all the other damage that this car had (which was a Toyota aveo with the bumpers coming off dents on the side)i had the representative mark down glass damage that was on the windshield. This was marked down on the sheet. When I return the car to the Yorkville location I was profusely apologize to for having been rented a car that had glass damage and that they weren't supposed to do that. I also made a complaint at the 1800 number. I just received a bill for $199 stating that I owe for glass damage. I have to spend my Saturday trying to get them to sift through their original paperwork and find where they circled that the glass damage had been incurred prior to me driving the vehicle. I will never be renting from Budget rental car again I am so disappointed in my experience please. Buyer beware: do not rent from them you're taking a chance on being scammed.
We rented a truck in November of 2016. In July of 2017 we received a call from a collection agency saying they were sending us to collections for damages on the truck. SEVEN months later and this is the FIRST we're hearing about it? So I asked what the damages were and they said something about some fabric was wrapped around a pole in the box truck and melted to it! We only put furniture in the truck!!!!
I showed the second gas receipt to the manager but she wouldn't listen and would only believe the faulty gas gauge.
I took the car back one more time to the gas station to top it off. This time the gas was spilling out of the gas port and yet the gauge was still showing 7/8 full.
This is a rip off! Beware!!!!
